We had a great time in January at our third Bleed and Feed! Those of us who could donate met at the Liverpool American Red Cross Blood Donation Center on a Wednesday night to give blood. After we recovered, others joined us for dinner at a nearby restaurant to catch up and get to know each other better.
This was my 3rd Bleed and Feed, and I have to say, it was a cold, dark January night. If I didn't have plans to meet other folks, it would have been really tempting to put off giving blood. But I'm so glad I didn't stay home. It is so satisfying to give to help others, and so nice to spend an evening with friendly heathens!
Our group is planning to do our next Bleed and Feed during the Week of Action in April/May, and we plan to continue holding them every three months. We hope that a core group of bleeders and feeders will develop, encouraging regular blood donation and bulding our humanist community at the same time.
